A Mythic drop can still make an entire farming session feel worthwhile, but Patch 3.1.1 has made the route to that moment a little less frustrating. The big change isn't that rare loot suddenly rains from every activity. It doesn't. What matters now is how you spend your time, keys, and gold. Players who plan their runs are seeing better results than those who simply hammer the toughest content they can enter. If you're trying to fill gaps in your build or replace weaker Diablo 4 Items, the smart play is to favour repeatable boss kills over slow, showy clears. More attempts per hour means more loot rolls, and that's the number that really counts.

    Choose Speed Over Bragging Rights

It's tempting to push Torment 12 because your build can technically survive there. That doesn't mean you should farm there. If a boss takes several minutes, forces repeated potion use, or leaves you waiting on cooldowns between phases, you're probably losing efficiency. Torment 10 has become a comfortable farming point for many Season 14 builds because enemies remain rewarding without turning every encounter into a slog. Your ideal difficulty may be different, of course. Time a few runs and be honest about the results. A build that clears ten bosses smoothly will usually beat one that struggles through four at a higher tier. Consistency matters too. You shouldn't be dying to random mechanics or returning to town after every pull. Tighten your resistances, fix resource generation, and keep movement skills ready. Farming builds aren't always the builds with the biggest damage screenshot. They're the ones that keep moving.

    Keep Your Key Supply Moving

Boss materials disappear quickly when you start chasing Mythics, so don't treat every key as something to spend the moment it drops. A better routine starts with the cheaper encounters. Run smaller-key bosses, collect their crafting materials, and use those rewards to build a supply of Superior or Greater Keys. Then move into the more valuable fights once you've got enough resources for several attempts. Doing one expensive run and going broke feels awful. Doing six or eight in a row gives you a much fairer shot at useful loot. It also cuts down on trips between activities. Some Greater Boss encounters can return keys or related materials, which helps the cycle support itself when luck goes your way. Keep a reserve rather than emptying your inventory every night. That buffer lets you take advantage of efficient groups, seasonal bonuses, or a newly discovered boss target without spending hours rebuilding from nothing.

Farm the Boss That Has What You Need

Random farming has lost much of its appeal now that boss-specific Mythic drops appear more dependable after the patch. Before committing valuable materials, check which encounter can actually provide the weapon, armour piece, or Unique your build is missing. It sounds obvious, but players still burn stacks of keys on a familiar boss simply because the fight is easy. Easy loot isn't useful loot if it can't improve your setup. Greater Bosses deserve most of your attention because their reward potential tends to justify the preparation cost. Other activities can still break up the grind, though they shouldn't drain resources meant for your main target. Nemesis Layers have been uneven for dedicated Mythic hunting, while Mythic Tributes can produce wildly different returns. Mythic Charms may also ask for materials you'd rather put into another boss rotation. Run those activities when they overlap with another goal, not because you expect a guaranteed jackpot.

Use Seasonal Content Without Losing Momentum

Seasonal objectives work best when they sit inside your normal route instead of pulling you away from it. Gift of the Tree events are a good example. If nearby Whispers match the dungeons, zones, or bosses you already planned to farm, complete them on the way. The extra caches can provide gold, crafting materials, and boss resources without adding much dead time. Gold deserves more attention than it usually gets. A new Mythic is exciting, but it may force changes to several other slots. Enchanting, rerolling affixes, repairing gear, and testing a different setup can chew through your savings in minutes. Don't wait until you're broke to think about currency. Sell unwanted drops, salvage with a purpose, and avoid rerolling mediocre pieces just because they're slightly better than what you've got. A healthy reserve keeps your progress moving when the item you've been waiting for actually lands.
